About Leonardo

Built around a different standard.

Licensed physiotherapist, sports rehabilitation specialist, and founder of PhysioPro — performance rehabilitation in Zona Rio, Tijuana.

From Leonardo

Why I built this differently.

If you are reading this, you have probably already tried something. Rest, maybe. A few sessions somewhere that didn't go anywhere. Medication that managed the pain without addressing what caused it. I see this in almost every new patient who walks in.

I built PhysioPro because I kept watching what happened when rehabilitation stopped at pain reduction. The patient leaves feeling better — but the capacity was never rebuilt. The movement was never retrained. The tissue was never loaded properly. And three months later, the same problem comes back under load, because the underlying deficit was never addressed.

That is not rehabilitation. That is symptom management with a clinical name on the invoice.

Every session here is built around a different standard: assess what is actually happening, identify and address the underlying contributors, and progress the patient toward what they need to do — not just toward being comfortable at rest. Pain-free in daily life is the floor, not the ceiling.

If that is what you have been looking for, you are in the right place.

Principles

What I believe about rehabilitation.

01

Movement is medicine.

Rest is a phase, not a solution. Controlled, progressive loading is the primary driver of tissue recovery. Avoiding movement prolongs dysfunction — not prevents it.

02

The patient's goal is the rehabilitation goal.

Return to sport. Return to training. Return to the things that matter to you. "Pain-free in daily life" is the floor — not the ceiling. Rehabilitation ends when the patient's goal is reached, not when the tissue is passively comfortable.

03

Clinical judgment over protocol.

Generic timelines and cookie-cutter programs miss what makes each case different. Assessment drives every decision. The program is built for your findings, your history, and your goal — not a population average.

The difference

How PhysioPro differs from standard physical therapy.

Standard approach

  • Pain reduction as the primary outcome
  • Passive modalities as the main treatment
  • Discharge when symptoms reduce
  • Generic protocols applied to condition labels
  • Imaging-led — waiting for scans before starting
  • Rotating staff across sessions

PhysioPro approach

  • Return to activity as the primary outcome
  • Progressive loading as the core treatment
  • Discharge when the patient's goal is achieved
  • Assessment-driven programs built for each case
  • Examination-led — clinical assessment begins day one
  • Same clinician across every session

Fit

Who PhysioPro is — and is not — built for.

A good fit

  • Athletes with acute or chronic injuries targeting return to sport
  • Active adults who want to maintain or improve physical function
  • Patients who have tried passive treatment without lasting results
  • Post-surgical patients entering the rehabilitation phase
  • People with chronic pain who are ready to work toward capacity
  • Runners and combat sports athletes managing load and injury

Not a good fit

  • Patients seeking passive-only treatment with no active participation
  • Acute emergencies requiring immediate medical attention
  • Conditions that require surgical or specialist intervention before rehabilitation
  • Patients unable or unwilling to participate actively in the process

If PhysioPro is not the right fit for your situation, we will say so — and point you toward a more appropriate resource.

How I work

The performance rehabilitation approach.

Assessment-led

Every decision is grounded in what the clinical examination finds — not what the complaint sounds like. Treatment follows assessment, never the reverse.

Performance-targeted

The endpoint is defined by what you need to do — not just what the tissue can tolerate. Programs are built toward your activity, your sport, your life.

Movement-first

Loading, strengthening, and progressive movement are prioritized. Passive treatment is a tool used in service of that loading — not a substitute for it.

Founder-delivered

You work with the same clinician across every session. There are no handoffs and no intake staff — consistent clinical reasoning and relationship from day one.

Before you book

A direct invitation.

If you are considering coming in and want to ask something first — message me on WhatsApp. I read every message personally. There is no intake staff between you and me.

Tell me what's going on. I'll tell you honestly if PhysioPro is the right fit for your case — and if it isn't, I'll try to point you somewhere useful. I would rather do that than have you travel here for something I can't genuinely help with.
