Booking

  • How do I book a session?

The fastest way is WhatsApp — message directly using the "Book on WhatsApp" button anywhere on this site. You can also use the contact form on the homepage or call during clinic hours. A response typically arrives within a few hours on business days.

  • How quickly will I get a response?

Typically within a few hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. WhatsApp messages receive the fastest responses. If you message outside of hours, you will hear back the following morning.

  • Can I book same-day?

Subject to availability. Message on WhatsApp and we will confirm what is open. Booking in advance is recommended to secure your preferred time slot.

  • Is a deposit required?

A deposit may be required to hold your appointment slot. If collected, it is applied in full to your first session cost — it is not an additional fee.

  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Contact via WhatsApp as early as possible if you need to change your appointment. We appreciate 24 hours' notice where possible, as last-minute cancellations affect other patients waiting for that slot.

  • Do I need a doctor's referral to book?

No. You can book directly — no GP letter, specialist referral, or doctor's note required. Physiotherapy in Mexico allows direct patient access, and PhysioPro operates on this basis. If you have a referral or clinical notes from another provider, bring them — they provide useful context. But they are not a requirement to book or to begin treatment.

Pricing

  • How much does the first session cost?

$750 MXN. This includes the full clinical assessment and treatment in the same session. There is no separate consultation or intake fee.

  • What is included in that price?

Full clinical assessment, treatment, rehabilitation plan, home exercise program (where applicable), and direct WhatsApp access to Leonardo between sessions. You pay for a complete clinical interaction — not an intake appointment.

  • Are packages available?

Yes. Multi-session packages are available and discussed after the first session, once we have a clear picture of what your case requires. Package pricing is confirmed directly with Leonardo.

  • What payment methods are accepted?

Cash and bank transfer (SPEI). Payment is confirmed at the time of booking or on the day of your session. Specific details are provided when your appointment is confirmed.

Treatment

  • Does the first session include treatment?

Yes. Assessment and treatment happen in the same appointment. There are no intake-only visits — you do not pay to have a conversation and come back next week. Read the full breakdown: What Happens During Your First Physiotherapy Session? →

  • How long is each session?

Approximately 60 minutes. The first session allocates more time to assessment, with the remainder used for treatment and plan discussion. Follow-up sessions are structured around treatment and progression.

  • What conditions do you treat?

Knee pain, shoulder pain, back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation are the most common presentations. For a full breakdown, see the What We Treat page.

  • Will I be working with Leonardo directly?

Yes, every session. PhysioPro is a 1:1 clinic — you work with Leonardo Machado directly from session one. There are no assistants, aides, or handoffs.

  • What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being assessed or treated. Shorts for lower limb work, a t-shirt or sports top for upper body. Bring any relevant imaging (X-ray, MRI) or post-surgical protocols if you have them — but these are not required.

Clinical Approach

  • Do I need imaging — an X-ray or MRI — before I start?

No. The majority of conditions can be assessed and treated from clinical examination alone. If you have existing imaging, bring it — it provides useful context. But imaging is not a prerequisite to start, and waiting for a scan before beginning treatment is rarely necessary or beneficial. Clinical examination tells us what the tissue is doing under load; an image tells us what it looks like at rest. Those are different questions. • I've tried physiotherapy before and it didn't help. Why would this be different?

The most common reason physiotherapy doesn't produce lasting results is that treatment addressed the symptom without rebuilding the capacity. Pain was reduced — through manual therapy, passive modalities, or generic exercise — but the load tolerance was never restored. When the load returned, the pain returned. The approach here is different: assessment identifies the capacity deficit, treatment builds it systematically, and discharge happens when the tissue can handle the demands being placed on it — not when pain is temporarily absent.

  • How will I know when I'm ready to return to sport or full training?

Readiness is determined by clinical criteria — not a calendar, not how the area feels, and not how many sessions have passed. Criteria include strength benchmarks, load tolerance under sport-specific demands, limb symmetry testing where relevant, and movement quality maintained under fatigue. You will know you are ready because you will have demonstrated it — not assumed it. This is the core difference between symptom-based and criteria-based rehabilitation.

Recovery

  • How many sessions will I need?

This cannot be answered accurately before assessment. The number of sessions depends on the condition, chronicity, your load history, and your goals. After session one, you will have an honest estimate — not a generic number designed to fill a schedule.

  • How long will rehabilitation take?

Timelines vary significantly by case. An acute sports injury with clear mechanics may progress faster than a chronic presentation with layered tissue and movement dysfunction. After assessment, you will receive an honest and specific timeline for your case.

  • Can I keep training during rehabilitation?

In most cases, yes — often with modifications. Complete rest is rarely the best approach. Training continues with specific guidance on what to modify, what to avoid temporarily, and what to add for accelerated tissue recovery.

  • What if I am not sure what is wrong?

That is a normal starting point. The clinical assessment is designed to identify exactly what is happening and why. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis — that is part of what session one is for.

Insurance

  • Do you accept insurance?

PhysioPro currently operates on a direct-pay basis — $750 MXN per session. Insurance is not accepted or billed through the clinic at this time. If you have private coverage, you may be able to request reimbursement directly from your insurer with your session receipt.

  • Where is PhysioPro located?

Jose Maria Velazco 2632, Zona Urbana Rio Tijuana, 22010 Tijuana, Baja California. The clinic is in Zona Rio — one of the most accessible areas of the city by car and transit.

  • What are the clinic hours?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All sessions are by appointment — walk-in is not available.

  • Is parking available?

Street parking is available nearby in Zona Rio. The clinic is also accessible by transit routes along Blvd. Sánchez Taboada.

  • Do patients come from San Diego or Southern California?

Yes. Zona Rio is approximately 30 minutes from the US border, and a number of patients commute from San Diego County. Sessions are conducted in English. Payment is in MXN — $750 MXN per session is approximately $37–40 USD at current exchange rates.
